Rahima (13), Lucky (8) and Khadija (9) live in a small room with their mother and grandparents.
The three girls’ mother Majida is about 35 years old and runs her own business – she makes cakes and sells them on the street. Her husband left the family years ago and not been in contact with them since. It may be, because he was not happy with three daughters and wanted to have a son. Fathers leaving their families for the lack of sons sadly happens very often.
Their grandmother and grandfather are too old to work, so it their mother’s business that keeps the whole family alive.
They desperately need help with their $50 per month rent and to cover the cost of food and school transport for the girls.
